The Organic Marketing Institute (OMI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of the environmental and public health benefits of organic agriculture, while building greater transparency and trust in an often confusing marketplace. Through research, education, and advocacy, OMI supports industry partners, including brands and retailers, in meeting consumer demand for authenticity and sustainability. By advancing third-party certification and expanding the organic baseline into new product categories, OMI helps businesses mitigate risk and empowers shoppers to make more confident, informed, and sustainable choices.

  • Increase consumer demand and adoption of certified products through ongoing research, education, and advocacy, and launch the first Grass-Fed Organic campaign through the Organic Plus Trust (OPT) Grass-Fed Organic Livestock Program

With support from a USDA Organic Market Development Grant (OMDG), OMI provides communications aimed at addressing public health, animal welfare, and environmental considerations.
